Steamboat’s first new base development in over 15 years is steps from the slopes and designed for sustainable living. By Kelly Smith

The Amble, Steamboat Resort’s first new base-area development in over 15 years, is bringing 42 sustainable, luxurious new homes to one of Colorado’s most beloved mountain towns.

A short walk from the Steamboat Resort base, the all-electric building is designed to capture, retain and reuse waste energy from the building systems to supplement the domestic hot water and pool/spa heating systems. This cuts down on the amount of energy the building needs to operate and will allow it to operate with significantly lower energy usage than traditional building systems, according to The Amble’s website.

The building features a family- and pet-friendly lounge and game room.

The building will be 100% zero-carbon through Yampa Valley Electric’s Green Choice program, and homeowners will have the opportunity to opt in to the program as well.

The Amble’s one- to four-bedroom homes, available next spring and summer, will be set on a hilltop, allowing for views from every home. They will feature open, flowing spaces; high-end finishes; panoramic triple-pane windows; large primary suites with walk-in closets; electric water vapor fireplaces and spacious decks.

Building amenities will include a heated spa and pool, a fitness center, a family- and pet-friendly lounge and game room, activity lockers and winter gear storage. The Den, a jumping-off point for mountain adventures, has winter gear lockers and storage for skis, boards, and bikes. A coffee station provides a morning pick-me-up, and owners and guests can savor mountain views from the sundeck. Underground, heated, secured parking includes EV charging stations.

The spacious homes have upscale finishes and water vapor fireplaces. Large triple-pane windows let in sunshine and mountain views.
